Contains notes concerning methods of navigation for sailing vessels, with sections on plane, traverse, oblique, and other methods of sailing, including mathematical and astronomical formulas to calculate distance, direction, and wind speeds. Also contains transcriptions of possibly fictitious ships' logs (see Savage's article) of the Orford and the Trincomelay (ff. 47v-62v), a ballad on the Arethusa (66v-68r), and "An Hymn for a Chapter of Royal Arch Masons" (80r). Savage's article concerns the Williams manuscript.
